Totoro Sandwich:
- INGREDIENTS:
2 Slices of Bread,
Chocolate Hazelnut Spread,
Strawberry Preserves,
Marshmallow Creme.
- Place two slices of bread together & cut away the crusts using clean scissors. Cut the slices into the shape of Totoro (basically an egg w/ pointy ears).
- Spread strawberry preserves on one slice & chocolate hazelnut spread on the other & stick them together (you can use other spreads too).
- Spoon some chocolate hazelnut spread into plastic sandwich bag & snip a small opening in one corner.
Squeeze the spread onto the top of the sandwich in the shape of Totoro, using a butter knife to smooth it out.
- Spoon some marshmallow creme into a small bowl & microwave for 30 seconds. Stir until smooth & pourable.
Pour into another sandwich bag & snip a tiny hole in the corner. Draw Totoro's egg shaped belly, round eyes, & line for the mouth.
Using two toothpicks, pull the ends of the mouth into smiling points.
- Using another toothpick, dip into the chocolate hazelnut spread & carefully add the pupils, teeth, & upside down "Vs" on Totoro's tummy.
Gently pull away w/ the toothpick on Totoro's cheeks to create his whiskers & also at the base of his ears.
- Lastly, put on a small dab of strawberry spread for Totoro's nose, using a toothpick to shape it into an oval.
